Chouf
CrimeDrama108 min
When his dealer brother is shot in front of him, 20-year-old student Sofiane returns to the Marseille housing projects where he grew up and enters the local drug trade to seek revenge. The title refers to the “chouf” — the lookouts posted around the neighborhood to watch for police and rival crews. Sofian Khammes leads as a young man trading school for the codes and hierarchies of the street, with Foued Nabba among the figures around him as the network closes in. The film stays close to the mechanics of the corners, the crews, and the pressure that pulls Sofiane further in.
