Inherit the Wind
Drama128 min
When schoolteacher Bertram Cates is arrested for teaching Darwin's theory of evolution, his case turns a local courtroom into a national battleground over science, religion, and public opinion. Spencer Tracy is Henry Drummond, the renowned defense attorney brought in to defend Cates, while Fredric March's Matthew Brady leads the prosecution as a famous evangelist, former presidential candidate, and Drummond's longtime rival. As reporters crowd in and the town divides around the trial, the fight reaches beyond the law to questions of faith, education, and public spectacle.
