Pharaoh
ActionAdventureDrama180 min
In ancient Egypt, young Pharaoh Ramses XIII tries to pull power back from a priesthood that controls the state's money, influence, and access to the people. Jerzy Zelnik is Ramses, ambitious but politically untested, pushing against a clerical machine that has learned how to rule from behind the throne. As battles over authority spill from the palace into the wider kingdom, the film turns court intrigue, ritual, and military ambition into a struggle over who actually governs. Wieslawa Mazurkiewicz is among the figures surrounding Ramses as pressure builds inside the royal court.
