The Monuments Men
ActionAdventureComedyDocumentaryDramaWar118 min
As Allied forces move through Europe, a small unit of museum directors, architects, and art historians is sent to the front lines of World War II to recover masterpieces stolen by the Nazis before they vanish or are destroyed. George Clooney leads the group, with Matt Damon and Bill Murray among the scholars-turned-soldiers searching through bombed cities, hidden caches, and occupied territory. Drawn from a true story, the film follows a race through Germany where military priorities and cultural rescue collide, as an unlikely platoon tries to protect centuries of art and return it to its rightful owners.
