The Addams Family
ComedyFamilyFantasy26 min per episode
In a gloomy old house, the Addamses go about family life with a smile and a taste for the macabre. Gomez and Morticia treat spiders, swords, and séances as perfectly normal household fare, while their children, their hulking butler, and a visiting parade of baffled outsiders turn ordinary problems into wonderfully strange misunderstandings. Much of the comedy comes from the gap between how this family sees itself—loving, polite, and respectable—and how the rest of the world reacts to its cheerfully morbid habits. Based on Charles Addams’s cartoons, the series turns those one-panel figures into a full household, where every visit, romance, and neighborhood encounter becomes a clash of manners and menace.
