The Munsters
ComedyFamily25 min per episode
The Munster household treats monsters as ordinary family life, even as everyone around them recoils at the sight of them. Fred Gwynne is Herman Munster, a lumbering, good-natured patriarch whose home includes Yvonne De Carlo’s elegant vampire Lily, Grandpa’s mad-scientist schemes, and young Eddie’s werewolf streak. While the family goes about school, neighbors, and domestic mishaps like anyone else, they never quite grasp why the outside world finds them so alarming. The comedy comes from that gap between the Munsters’ affectionate normalcy and the horror-movie appearance they take completely for granted.
