The Elephant Queen

DocumentaryFamily96 min

Athena, the matriarch of an elephant herd in the African savannah, leads her family away from their waterhole and into an unforgiving search for a new home. Guided by Chiwetel Ejiofor's narration, the film follows the herd across dry ground and through a landscape shared with other wildlife, keeping close to how they move, protect their young, and stay together. The story centers on Athena’s decisions as the herd crosses a vast African wilderness in search of water and a place to settle.
