Three Identical Strangers
DocumentaryDramaMystery97 min
In 1980 New York, a college freshman’s first day turns into a media sensation when Robert Shafran learns he has an identical twin he never knew about, and then a third brother emerges. Present-day interviews with Shafran and David Kellman, alongside archival TV appearances and family recollections, follow the triplets’ reunion after being separated at birth and adopted into different homes. What begins as an exuberant public story of coincidence and celebrity keeps widening, as questions about their adoption and the people around it point to something far stranger than a feel-good reunion.
