Summer of Sam
CrimeDramaRomanceThriller142 min
During the Son of Sam summer of 1977, fear spreads through an Italian-American Bronx neighborhood as the killings turn neighbors against one another. John Leguizamo is Vinny, a married man whose cheating is already fraying life at home, while Adrien Brody's Ritchie becomes an easy target after embracing punk style and nightlife. Spike Lee keeps the murders in the background and follows the damage closer in: gossip, suspicion, macho rivalry, and bigotry moving through apartments, bars, and street corners. Mira Sorvino and Jennifer Esposito are among the faces caught inside a community on edge.
