Big Man Japan

The story

Hitoshi Matsumoto is Daisato, a third-generation superhero in Tokyo who grows into a 100-foot giant to fight a parade of bizarre monsters, leaving noise, wreckage, and irritated neighbors behind. Shot as a mock-documentary, the film follows his awkward off-duty life as closely as the battles: an agent trying to turn him into ad space, a grandfather whose own superhero past is fading with Alzheimer’s, and relatives embarrassed by his reputation as a national protector who can barely manage his image.
