The Trail of the Lonesome Pine
AdventureDramaRomanceWestern102 min
In the Kentucky mountains, a long-running feud keeps two families armed and suspicious as outside money arrives to transform the land. A railroad engineer comes into the region to survey a route through the wilderness, bringing jobs, disruption, and a different way of life. His presence tangles with local loyalties when he and a mountain woman, played by Sylvia Sidney, are drawn to each other despite the hostility around them. At the same time, a proud young mountaineer, played by Henry Fonda, wants her for himself and is pulled between old codes and the changes closing in on his home. Romance, family rivalry, and the push of industrial progress collide as the mountains become a battleground for love and control.
