ActionAdventureDramaRomance119 min

Jim Lane lives for danger, flying unproven aircraft to their limits as a test pilot whose nerve outpaces his judgment. After a crash landing on a Kansas farm, Clark Gable is Jim, who falls for Ann and brings her into a life built around risky flights, hard drinking, and constant uncertainty. Myrna Loy's Ann soon finds herself sharing that burden with Gunner, Jim's mechanic and closest friend, as both try to keep him steady when the job keeps pulling him back into the cockpit. Lionel Barrymore also figures into the aviation world that depends on Jim taking chances no one else will.
