Black Peter

ComedyDrama90 min

Over a few days in 1960s Czechoslovakia, a teenager starts his first job and finds himself caught between workplace expectations and the scrutiny waiting at home. Miloš Forman keeps the story close to the rhythms of ordinary life, where small embarrassments, awkward conversations, and parental pressure carry the drama. Ladislav Jakim is the young lead at the center of it, with Pavla Martinkova among the people shaping his world. The film follows adolescence at ground level, watching a boy try to make sense of work, authority, and growing up while the adults around him keep talking past him.
