The Old Mill

AnimationComedyFamilyHorrorMusicalThriller9 min

As a summer thunderstorm bears down on an abandoned country mill, the birds, mice, owls, and other small creatures living inside scramble to stay dry while their shelter starts to give way around them. Voices from Elvia Allman and Clarence Nash thread through a cartoon built around animal chatter, sudden gusts, and Leigh Harline’s music, which weaves in a melody from Johann Strauss II’s The Gypsy Baron. Most of the action stays inside the creaking mill as the wind rises, the wheel begins to turn, and the whole structure feels one hard blast away from breaking apart.
