Manjhi: The Mountain Man
Drama124 min
After his wife dies trying to cross a mountain, Dashrath Manjhi sets out to carve a road through the rock by hand. Nawazuddin Siddiqui is Manjhi, a poor laborer from rural Bihar whose grief hardens into a single, punishing task; opposite him, Radhika Apte is the wife whose loss sets that task in motion. Based on the life of the man later known as the Mountain Man, the film follows one person’s refusal to accept the barrier that has shaped his village, working with little more than a hammer, a chisel, and endurance.
