Shahid

CrimeDrama129 min

After time in prison as a young man, Shahid Azmi returns to Mumbai determined to rebuild his life and fight for people the system has already marked guilty. He studies law and becomes a defense attorney for Muslims accused under terrorism charges, taking on cases others avoid. Each courtroom win brings more pressure outside it: public suspicion, political hostility, and the danger that comes with defending the unpopular. As Shahid pushes back against forced confessions and weak investigations, the film follows how his work turns one man’s second chance into a larger battle over justice. Rajkummar Rao plays Shahid in this portrait of a lawyer working under constant threat.
