Camino Duro: La Historia de Dewey Cox
ComedyDrama96 min
After a childhood tragedy, Dewey Cox chases music stardom from small-town beginnings through one reinvention after another, as changing musical styles, affairs, addiction, and sudden bursts of rage reshape his rise. John C. Reilly is Dewey, a made-up rock icon whose story borrows freely from the legends and clichés of classic music biopics, with nods to figures like Johnny Cash, Bob Dylan, and Brian Wilson. Tim Meadows turns up as one of the key voices in Dewey’s orbit as the film follows him from earnest early songs to fame, excess, and a steadily more absurd version of rock-history mythology.
