A Mighty Wind

Comedy91 min

After the death of their longtime manager, three never-quite-famous folk acts from the 1960s reunite for a memorial concert at New York’s Town Hall. Christopher Guest frames the comeback as a mockumentary, following old frictions, awkward rehearsals, and carefully preserved harmonies as the musicians edge back into public view. Eugene Levy and Catherine O’Hara are Mitch and Mickey, former folk sweethearts whose history hangs over every duet, while Guest joins Michael McKean and Harry Shearer in the deadpan trio The Folksmen. Parker Posey, John Michael Higgins, and Jane Lynch round out the bill as the color-coordinated, relentlessly cheerful New Main Street Singers.
