Insomnia
CrimeDramaMysteryThriller118 min
Sent to Nightmute, Alaska, to investigate the methodical murder of a local teenager, veteran LAPD detective Will Dormer (Al Pacino) arrives with professional baggage and quickly finds the case distorted by the town’s midnight sun. As sleeplessness, guilt, and a shaky partnership start to cloud his judgment, Dormer is pulled into a wary exchange with a local crime writer. Hilary Swank is the younger detective watching him from close range in Christopher Nolan’s remake, which moves between police procedure and a homicide case complicated by planted evidence, blackmail, and a lead investigator who may no longer trust his own mind.
