Iwao Enokizu is a thief, a murderer, and a charming womanizer moving through Japan with the police close behind. Ken Ogata is Enokizu, a fugitive whose violence sits beside an almost casual ease with strangers, lovers, and false identities. Drawing on a true case, the film follows his flight while circling back to the devout Catholic family he came from, including his father (Rentarō Mikuni). The contrast between piety, appetite, and brutality shapes a portrait of a man who keeps slipping through every net thrown around him.
