The Face of Another

DramaSci-FiThriller124 min

After a businessman is left with a disfigured face, he accepts a lifelike mask from a doctor, only to find that the new face starts to alter his personality and blur his sense of self. Tatsuya Nakadai stands at the center of that unraveling, with Kyoko Kishida among those pulled into the confusion around his transformation. In Japan, the film turns bandages, mirrors, and sterile medical spaces into a study of anonymity, desire, and the uneasy freedom that comes with moving through the world behind a borrowed face.
