Wonderland

CrimeDramaMysteryThriller104 min

After four people are found murdered in a Laurel Canyon house on July 1, 1981, the investigation keeps circling back to porn star John Holmes. Val Kilmer is Holmes, a famous adult-film performer and possible accomplice whose account of the night clashes with other versions as police try to reconstruct what happened on Wonderland Avenue. Based on the real Wonderland murders, the film moves through early-’80s Los Angeles in overlapping, conflicting perspectives, tracing the drugs, robberies, and unstable loyalties around Holmes’s orbit. Kate Bosworth and Dylan McDermott are among the ensemble caught up in the fallout.
