Dark Water
DramaHorrorMysteryThriller101 min
Fresh from an ugly divorce and a child-custody fight, a mother moves with her six-year-old daughter into a shabby apartment building, where a dark leak in the ceiling never stops spreading. Hitomi Kuroki anchors the film as the increasingly strained mother, with Rio Kanno beside her as the child caught in the same cramped rooms and damp hallways. What begins as indifference from the building management turns stranger as water appears in impossible places, the apartment above feels disturbingly close, and the stain overhead starts to suggest that something else is living in the building with them.
