Rear Window
DramaMysteryThriller115 min
Laid up in a wheelchair with a broken leg, photographer L.B. Jeffries (James Stewart) starts filling long summer days by watching the neighbors across his Greenwich Village courtyard. What begins as idle voyeurism turns into suspicion when he becomes convinced one apartment holds the signs of a murder. Grace Kelly's Lisa Fremont, elegant and far less willing to sit still, gets drawn into Jeff's private investigation as his theories sharpen. Directed by Alfred Hitchcock, the film keeps its focus on one apartment block, where flirtations, arguments, routines, and sudden absences become clues viewed from a single rear window.
