The Parades
Drama132 min
After a devastating calamity, a mother finds herself searching for her missing son from within a realm of restless spirits. Masami Nagasawa is the woman at the center of the story, piecing together the fact that she, too, has died as she moves through a world suspended between memory and disappearance. The people around her, including figures played by Kentaro Sakaguchi and Lily Franky, connect her private loss to others carrying their own unfinished ties. The film frames grief through a supernatural premise, following one mother’s search as it brushes up against absence, connection, and the lives left behind.
