The Red Light Bandit

CrimeThriller92 min

Born in the poverty of Brazil’s slums, Jorge becomes a luxury-house burglar in São Paulo and a tabloid sensation after the press dubs him the Red Light Bandit. Carrying a red flashlight and taunting his hostages with an irreverent patter, he turns robbery into performance before spending his haul extravagantly in the decaying Boca do Lixo district. Paulo Villaça is at the center of the film, with Helena Ignez and Luiz Linhares among the figures moving through Jorge’s world of crime, notoriety, and urban squalor.
