Judas and the Black Messiah
CrimeDrama126 min
Cornered by the FBI in late-1960s Chicago, petty criminal Bill O’Neal is sent to infiltrate the Illinois chapter of the Black Panther Party and report on its rising chairman, Fred Hampton. Lakeith Stanfield’s O’Neal moves deeper into the organization as Daniel Kaluuya is Hampton, a young organizer building alliances across the city and sharpening the Panthers’ political message. Jesse Plemons threads through the pressure as Agent Roy Mitchell, the handler pushing O’Neal for information, while Deborah Johnson (Dominique Fishback) brings a more intimate view of Hampton’s life as government surveillance closes in.
