Carlito's Way

CrimeDramaThriller144 min

Fresh out of prison in 1970s New York, Al Pacino is Carlito Brigante, a former drug boss trying to leave the street life behind and start over with Gail (Penelope Ann Miller). But Carlito’s plan to stay clean and disappear to the Bahamas keeps colliding with the city he knows best — and with Sean Penn’s David Kleinfeld, a flashy lawyer and old friend whose schemes drag him back toward clubs, cash, and violence. Directed by Brian De Palma, the film follows a man chasing a narrow exit from the underworld that still knows his name.
