Night Train to Lisbon

MysteryRomanceThriller111 min

After rescuing a Portuguese woman on his way to class, Swiss Latin teacher Raimund Gregorius finds a book that pushes him out of his ordered life and onto a train to Lisbon. Jeremy Irons is Gregorius, chasing the identity of the book’s elusive author, Amadeu de Prado, through stories linked to Portugal’s fascist dictatorship. In flashbacks, Jack Huston’s Amadeu comes into view as a doctor and writer caught in a web of loyalty, betrayal, love, and political danger. Gregorius’s search stretches across two eras, as the quiet life he left behind gives way to buried history and intimate secrets.
