After they’re banished from their primitive village, two feckless hunter-gatherers stumble into an ancient world that keeps putting them in the middle of biblical history. Jack Black is Zed, a boastful would-be hunter; Michael Cera’s Oh is his hesitant, soft-spoken companion, pulled along as the pair cross deserts, cities, and rival tribes after the women they care about are taken to Sodom. The movie turns prehistory into a broad spoof, mixing Stone Age bickering with Old Testament figures, palace intrigue, and slapstick, with Olivia Wilde and June Diane Raphael among the women at the center of the chase.
