In Edo-era Japan, a tea-house waitress named Fuu sets out to find a mysterious “samurai who smells of sunflowers” and ends up traveling with two fighters who would rather kill each other than work together. Mugen is a wild, unpredictable swordsman; Jin is a disciplined ronin with a calmer style. After Fuu pulls them out of immediate danger, she binds them to her search, and the three drift from town to town through bandits, corrupt officials, rival schools, and jobs that go wrong. Each stop becomes its own clash or misadventure, while Fuu’s quest keeps the uneasy trio moving forward together.
