In present-day Oslo, flashes of light start bringing people from the Stone Age, the Viking era, and the 19th century into the harbor with no way back. As the city struggles to absorb these “beforeigners,” old customs collide with modern life, and fear, resentment, and exploitation spread alongside official efforts to help. A police detective is paired with a sharp new recruit who comes from the Viking Age, and their first major case pulls them into a murder tied to the growing tensions around the arrivals. As they investigate, the mystery forces them through culture clashes, political pressure, and the unsettling question of why these people are appearing at all.
