ActionAdventureComedyDrama124 min

In 1973, 15-year-old William Miller lands a Rolling Stone assignment and joins the rising band Stillwater on tour, chasing his first big story while trying not to get swept up in the world around the music. Patrick Fugit is William, a smart, sheltered teenager suddenly living on buses, in hotel rooms, and backstage. Kate Hudson’s Penny Lane moves through Stillwater’s orbit with equal parts confidence and mystery, becoming one of the people who shapes William’s education on the road. Written and directed by Cameron Crowe, the film draws on his own early years as a teenage rock journalist.
