Love & Mercy
Drama121 min
As the Beach Boys crest in the late 1960s, Brian Wilson steps away from touring to build Pet Sounds in the studio while his mental health begins to unravel. Paul Dano is the younger Brian, surrounded by recording sessions, family pressure, and the sound in his head. In the 1980s, John Cusack's older Wilson is isolated and tightly controlled by Dr. Eugene Landy (Paul Giamatti), a therapist whose influence reaches into every part of his life. Elizabeth Banks is Melinda Ledbetter, who meets Brian during that later period and becomes entangled in the fight over who gets access to him.
