In the Alaskan winter, prison escapees Manny and Buck break out of a brutal penitentiary and scramble aboard a freight train they think will carry them to freedom. Jon Voight is Manny, an older convict whose name carries weight inside the prison, while Eric Roberts’ Buck is the younger inmate trying to keep pace with him. When the engineer dies and the train hurtles ahead without anyone at the controls, the two men find themselves trapped on board with a railway worker, with Rebecca De Mornay caught in the same fight to survive, as the prison’s vengeful head of security pursues them across the snow.
