To Live and Die in L.A.

ActionAdventureCrimeDramaThriller116 min

When his longtime partner is killed, U.S. Secret Service agent Richard Chance turns a Los Angeles counterfeiting case into a personal vendetta. William Petersen is Chance, a reckless investigator who keeps pushing past procedure, while Willem Dafoe’s Eric Masters moves through the city as an artist-criminal whose fake bills are nearly impossible to trace. Directed by William Friedkin, the film follows their collision through warehouses, freeways, and the glare of mid-’80s L.A., where surveillance, informants, and bad decisions keep tightening the chase.
