Lifeboat

DramaWar97 min

After a German U-boat destroys their ship during World War II, a small group of survivors is left adrift together in a single lifeboat, waiting for rescue and measuring one another under pressure. Alfred Hitchcock confines the entire film to that boat and the surrounding sea, turning each exchange into a question of authority, trust, and survival. Tallulah Bankhead is among the castaways, with William Bendix in the tightly packed ensemble as the survivors struggle to share one fragile refuge.
