Hero
ComedyDramaRomance119 min
Down-on-his-luck thief Bernie Laplante stumbles into an act of heroism when he pulls passengers from a plane crash, then slips back into the night with one shoe missing and no interest in being found. Dustin Hoffman's Bernie is divorced, broke, and already in trouble with the law, so when a TV station turns the anonymous rescuer into a citywide story, he stays quiet — until another man steps forward to claim the spotlight. Geena Davis is reporter Gale Gayley, chasing the mystery behind the missing shoe, while Andy Garcia brings a polished public image to the figure Bernie knows is taking credit for what happened.
