A brash ten-year-old arrives in Paris for a weekend with her rakish uncle, only to find the Métro on strike and the city turning into a string of misadventures. Catherine Demongeot is Zazie, whose impatience and wisecracks keep everyone off balance, while Philippe Noiret's uncle struggles to keep up as they ricochet through crowded streets, cafés, and chance encounters. 1960 Paris becomes less a postcard than a playground for slapstick, jumpy editing, visual tricks, and sudden surreal turns.
