A sharp tax investigator for Japan’s National Tax Agency spends her days tracking down people who hide income, moving from small cheats to bigger targets with patient, inventive tactics. When she fixes on a wealthy businessman whose lavish lifestyle does not match his books, the job turns into a cat-and-mouse game of false accounts, shell companies, and cash that keeps slipping out of reach. Nobuko Miyamoto plays the investigator as she follows paper trails, studies habits, and pressures witnesses, while every clue leads deeper into a system built to protect money and the people behind it. Juzo Itami turns the chase into a comedy about bureaucracy, greed, and the pleasure of catching someone who thinks they are untouchable.
