In Los Angeles in 1992, as the Rodney King verdict approaches and pressure builds across the city, a robbery-homicide investigation puts LAPD detective Eldon Perry under scrutiny from every side. Kurt Russell is Eldon, a veteran officer in the Special Investigations Squad whose methods blur intimidation, brutality, and police loyalty; beside him, Scott Speedman’s rookie Bobby Keough gets an abrupt education in how the department works behind closed doors. As the case moves forward and the city edges toward the L.A. riots, the film ties one police investigation to a wider atmosphere of corruption, racial tension, and public anger.
