The Lovers

DramaRomance91 min

In provincial France, Jeanne Moreau is a restless bourgeois wife caught between a distracted husband, a Paris lover, and the polished routines of country life. A drive from Dijon shifts when her car breaks down, and a chance meeting with a younger stranger, Bernard (Jean-Marc Bory), draws her toward something less arranged than the world she knows. Moving between drawing rooms, weekend estates, and moonlit countryside, the film stays close to her shifting desires as marriage, flirtation, and social expectation begin to pull apart.
