Fresh out of juvenile detention, a devout 20-year-old is sent to work at a sawmill in a small Polish town, where a chance misunderstanding lets him step into the local parish as a priest. Bartosz Bielenia is the young man at the center of the deception, preaching with conviction even as his lack of training and criminal past threaten to surface. As the town turns to him after a tragedy that still hangs over the community, figures played by Aleksandra Konieczna and Eliza Rycembel are among those drawn into his orbit, wary of his methods but unable to ignore his effect on the grieving parish.
