Clockers

CrimeDramaMystery128 min

Mekhi Phifer is Strike Dunham, a 19-year-old dealer working a Brooklyn housing project, trying to stay useful to the local drug operation without getting swallowed by it. When a fast-food manager is found shot to death, Strike’s older brother confesses, but detective Rocco Klein (Harvey Keitel) doesn’t believe the case adds up. As Klein keeps digging, the murder starts pointing back toward Strike and the men above him, tightening the pressure from both the police and the street. Spike Lee directs with a close eye on neighborhood routine, family strain, and the machinery of the drug trade.
