Champion gamer Max Troy discovers that the new first-person shooter he’s beta-testing isn’t staying on the screen: the violence inside the game is echoing in the real world. Larenz Tate is Max, pulled into a corporate conspiracy when he learns the game’s protagonist is Orson Creed, a former Sentinel employee embodied by Manu Bennett and remotely controlled by the company. As the line between simulation and reality breaks down, Max and Creed try to uncover why Sentinel built the system before the attacks spilling out of the game spread across the city.
