After his father, a noted architecture scholar, falls ill on a speaking trip, Jin is stranded in Columbus, Indiana, a Midwestern city known for its modernist buildings. John Cho is Jin, a reserved son waiting out the hospital stay when he meets Casey (Haley Lu Richardson), a young library worker with a sharp eye for the city around her. As the two spend time together, their conversations turn from architecture to the family ties keeping them in place: Jin’s distance from his father and Casey’s reluctance to leave her mother behind. Parker Posey and Michelle Forbes are part of the small circle around them.
