Basic Instinct
CrimeDramaMysteryRomanceThriller128 min
After a rock star is murdered with an ice pick, San Francisco detective Nick Curran is assigned to question the victim’s lover, a wealthy novelist whose latest manuscript describes the crime in exact detail. Michael Douglas is Nick, the homicide cop drawn deeper into a case that refuses to stay procedural, while Sharon Stone’s Catherine Tramell meets every accusation with cool intelligence, sexual candor, and unnerving composure. As Nick’s investigation turns into an intimate entanglement with the prime suspect, jealousy, manipulation, and violence begin to crowd the line between evidence and obsession.
