The Big Blue

ActionAdventureDramaRomance132 min

Childhood friends Jacques and Enzo grow up chasing the same thing: the dangerous world of free diving. Jean-Marc Barr is Jacques, still marked by his father’s death at sea and drawn underwater with an ease that seems almost beyond human; Jean Reno’s Enzo turns that bond into a fierce rivalry as both men push for deeper, riskier dives. Rosanna Arquette enters their orbit as Johana, who tries to build a life with Jacques on land while the sea keeps calling him back. Luc Besson’s film centers on friendship, competition, and the strange hold the ocean has on its two divers.
