Journey to the Center of the Earth
ActionAdventureFamilyFantasyRomanceSci-Fi132 min
An Edinburgh professor leads a small expedition down an extinct Icelandic volcano, following an explorer’s trail toward the center of the Earth. James Mason is Professor Oliver Lindenbrook, whose discovery sends the group beneath the surface and into a hidden world of vast caverns, underground seas, and prehistoric creatures. Pat Boone joins him on the descent, with Arlene Dahl and Diane Baker among the travelers drawn into the journey. The 1959 adventure keeps one foot in Victorian-style scientific curiosity and the other in fantastical spectacle, moving from lecture halls and icy landscapes to the strange terrain below.
