King Kong

ActionAdventureFantasyHorror134 min

An oil-company expedition reaches a remote island, disturbs a giant ape, and hauls him back to New York as a public attraction. Jeff Bridges is among the outsiders caught up in the discovery, while Jessica Lange enters the story as the young woman Kong fixates on after the landing. Charles Grodin is the voice behind the plan to profit from the creature, pushing the film from island danger and monster encounters toward a spectacle built on capture, display, and the idea that something enormous can be controlled once it reaches the city.
